Gasing Learning Method: Improve Children’s Counting Ability in Biak Numfor

Biak Numfor, Papua’s Department of Education and Culture, aspires to have 1,000 intelligent Biak kids by 2023. After his party concluded, he began training in quick counting using Prof. Yohanes Surya’s easy, enjoyable, and enjoyable mathematics learning application (Gasing).

Gasing Program to Improve Quick Count Ability

Gasing Program to Improve Quick Count Ability

In the initial stage, the Gasing program has trained 115 third and fourth-graders of elementary schools throughout Biak Numfor Regency, according to Numfor Kamaruddin, head of the Biak Education and Culture Office. This program aims to improve children’s ability to count quickly in math.

The Gasing method of teaching mathematics strives to produce intelligent Biak kids who are religious, moral, and educated, according to Kamarudin.

Children’s knowledge and counting speed can be transferred, in Kamaruddin’s opinion, using the Gasing method for learning to count quickly in mathematics.

The Gasing Program has Fulfilled The Target

The goal is 1,000 Biak Numfor students to be proficient and ready to take the Gasing technique test for rapid math by November 2023. To realize the vision and goal of Regent Herry Ario Naap for Biak, who are religious, have character, and are culturally grounded, this initiative aims to improve the quality of human resources for Biak kids who are adept at rapid math.

According to Kamarudin, the third graders and four participants in the Gasing rapid counting program can assimilate the information taught by Prof. Yohanes Surya, their supervising instructor.

He added that up to 34 teaching assistant students received training in the top-speed math technique in addition to the kids. In Biak Numfor Regency, he believes that the Gasing program will affect other pupils and the local schools.

Princes Marandof, one of the pupils using the Gasing method of rapid math, expressed his happiness at being chosen to participate in the program.

She added that she was able to take in the information offered. 2 In the past, the 15-day Gasing technique quick counting program finished on April 5, 2023.

Overview of The Gasing Method

The GASING method is a step-by-step method of learning mathematics that makes children master mathematics easily, fun, and enjoyable. The key to the GASING method is a step-by-step process, which is structured so that mastery of the material is built from a previous understanding.

When children learn a topic, there is a crucial stage that they must pass, which reflects the significance of this step-by-step procedure in the Gasing method. After reaching this critical point, they will no longer have difficulty working on questions on that topic.

In this Gasing learning method, children are invited to play and explore with props to really feel and imagine the concept they want to convey. So the abstract always begins with something concrete so children can understand and apply the concepts taught much more easily. Another characteristic of the Gasing method is that children can do calculations by rote (nonchalantly) quickly.

For example, children can multiply 121 x 212 randomly. Children also solve word problems using a logical and exploratory approach without the need to memorize formulas that sometimes obscure what is the essence of a problem.

In addition, youngsters learn pleasantly Gasing mathematics by playing with props, singing songs to memorize multiplication, for instance, or engaging in entertaining counting games. That way, children are encouraged to learn continuously without coercion; this means being fun in Gasing.

By learning the Gasing method, which is effective and fun, children can complete all 6 years of elementary math material in 6 months.

What Makes the Gasing Method Special?
