Astiler said, in accordance with the instructions of the Governor of Papua, the Fisheries Service in the future will carry out fishery development in rural areas and villages to increase fishery products as well as increase people’s welfare and income. because in addition to being consumed, these fishery products can be sold to generate income. Lake Sentani Fisheries Capture Activities :

Aquaculture activities:
- The number of cultivators in Lake Sentani is 674 people with a small business scale
- The number of non-Papuan cultivators (immigrants) is 48 people or 7% of the total cultivators in Lake Sentani.
- Production of Cage Cultivation Results is estimated at 90.105 tons/year. Or the average production of cultivators is 132 kg/person/year.
- The area of the existing aquaculture cages is 8.71 ha or the average cultivator has a fish cultivation area of 192 m2.
- The dominant types of fish cultivated are introduced fish such as Tilapia (Oreochoromis Niloticus), Mujair (Oreochorimis Mossambicus), Mas (Cyprinus carpio), Gurame (Osphrenemus gouramy).
