To promote a variety of potential natural resource wealth for fisheries, tourism, the arts, and culture, as well as to strengthen the economy of regional small businesses, the Papua Provincial Government is putting into action the Sail Cenderawasih Bay 2023 (also known as STC-2023).
About Sail Cenderawasih Bay 2023
A very thorough marine event, Sail Cenderawasih Bay 2023, introduces Papua’s maritime, tourism, and sociocultural potential. Due to this event, the administration anticipates increased interest from investors and tourists in the province of Papua.
Sail Cenderawasih Bay 2023 will be the thirteenth series of Sail Indonesia. The Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia, the Provincial Government of Papua as the Implementation Assistance Team, and the District Government as the Organizer are all working together to put on this event.
The Provincial Government of Papua in collaboration with the districts of Biak Numfor, Yapen Islands, Waropen, and Sarmi presents this event.
Through cooperation between the regional government, the central government, the BUMN, the commercial sector, and the community, this activity will serve as a platform for Papua to demonstrate its sense of unity and togetherness in improving the region.
Sail Cenderawasih Bay 2023 Launching
On February 3, 2023, the Sarinah District in Central Jakarta hosted the opening of Sail Cenderawasih Bay 2023.
Prior to the main event and as a part of the series of launching activities, discussions took place at the Maritime and Fisheries Sector Potential Investment/Promotion Forum, as well as at an MSME exposition and in relation to potential regional outcomes from the four associated districts.
Following the launch, the Regent Herry Ario Naap, S.SI, M.Pd., and other regents followed the ministers to a press conference session where they examined the location of the MSME display and probable regional outcomes.
The Aims of Sail Cenderawasih Bay 2023
The development of other regional potentials, investment, and fishing exports are the three main goals of this activity.
The Republic of Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Pandjaitan, stated that the objective of this action is to hasten the improvement of the quality and volume of marine product exports.
The development of supporting infrastructure, readiness, skilled and competitive human resources, post-harvest assistance, a cold chain that facilitates fishing exports, and legislation that supports the business climate are all part of this.
The Cenderawasih Bay Sail is expected to become a recurring event in the years to come. As a result, the numerous initiatives, projects, and developments started from this activity can go forward and develop.
Activities & Provincial Government Preparation STC-2023
At Sail Teluk Cenderawasih 2023, an investment forum to encourage regional development will be held. There are also cultural art exhibitions and festivals, which are good regional promotion examples.
The Provincial Government of Papua is very prepared and consistently offers assistance.
The assistance begins with the preliminary process in the form of facilities and stakeholder coordination.
Then, assisting the launching stages, assisting each event agenda and event’s peak on 1-7 November 2023 in Biak Numfor Regency.
With this introduction, several initiatives have been launched in the four districts. The districts are Biak Numfor Regency, Yapen Islands, Waropen, and Sarmi Regency, as regions for implementing the 2023 STC Papua.
