Registration for KPU members whose selection team has been open from March 19 to March 30, 2023, has ended. Timsel: 274 PBD District/City KPU Commissioner Candidates Passed Administration.
Previously, the selection team for prospective KPU members for the district or city of Southwest Papua had opened registration for KPU member selection on March 19, 2023. This registration was a selection for KPU members for the 2023 to 2028.
In the press conference that the selection team was conducting, the head of the selection team, Melvin V. Tuerah, explained that the selection process would go through several stages. Periodically, selected participants will go through administrative, written, psychological, and medical tests.
The administrative test was the first stage from March 19 to April 6, 2023. In carrying out this administrative test, it was recorded that there were around 486 participants who registered to become candidates for KPU members.
However, this number decreases when the deadline for submitting administrative files has expired. Based on a statement from Melvin V. Tuerah, out of a total of 486 participants who registered, only around 334 filled out the administrative files.
This number then decreased again after the selection team screened the administrative files of the participants. Overall, in the first stage of the selection, only 274 candidates for KPU members passed.
“However, by the registration deadline, only 334 applicants had completed the paperwork. Then out of the 334 files, it turned out that only 274 people had passed the administrative selection,” said Melvin on April 9, 2023.
KPU Commissioner Candidates Who Passed Administration
Out of 274 people who passed this first stage of selection, 50 were women, and 224 were men. For the region, the following is the number of participants who passed for each region:
- 42 people are candidates for members of the Sorong Regency
- 56 people are candidates for members of the South Sorong Regency
- 38 people are candidates for members of the Raja Ampat Regency
- 24 people are candidates for members of the Tambrauw Regency
- 59 people are candidates for members of the Maybrat Regency
- 55 people are candidates for members of the Sorong Regency
Second Stage Test: Written Test
After passing the administration test, participants must undergo several more test stages. After completing the first selection stage, the 274 participants who pass will enter the second stage of the written test. Participants will take a written exam using the CAT system for this written test.
The written exam with the CAT system is a computer-assisted selection method. The government generally uses this test method to select written tests, usually the CPNS test.
The selection team will conduct the written test for prospective KPU members from April 11 to April 14, 2023. The location for this written test is SMKN 1, Sorong City.
