Commission Meeting Results

Know About Commission Meeting Results

KPU has set DPS for three regions, namely Central Papua or DPS for Central Papua Province, Papa Mountains Province, and South Papua.

The following is an explanation of the results of the meeting:

1. Central Papua

DPS in the province of Papua is currently being taken from eight regencies, including Mimika, Nabire, Paniai, Puncak Jaya, Dogiay, Puncak, Deiyai, and Intan Jaya Regencies. The number of DPS in this area is 1,117,385 people.

2. Papua Mountains

The number of DPS in Highlands Papua was calculated from eight districts: Pegubin, Jayawijaya, Tolikara, Yahukimi, Nduga, Lany Jaya, Mamberamo Tengah, and Yalimo.

The recapitulation took place in 252 sub-districts and 2,625 sub-districts or villages. In the 5801 TPS (Temporary Election Place), the total DPS is around 1,287,590, with details of 691,457 male voters and 596,133 female voters.

3. South Papua

In South Papua, four districts receive DPS calculations, such as Mappi, Merauke, Asmat, and Boven Digul.

The total number of voters spread across 82 sub-districts, 690 sub-districts, and 1,752 polling stations is 343,664 people.

Based on the Papua facts data above, the number of DPS in Highlands Papua is the highest compared to the other two regions because it reaches around 1.2 million people.

Meanwhile, the smallest number of DPS is in South Papua, with around 340 thousand people.

Submission of Objections to The Results of The Meeting

Because it is a reasonably large forum, differences of opinion or objections may occur.

Therefore, according to Betty Epsilon Idroos, a member of the Indonesian KPU, those who object to the results of the plenary meeting must include authentic evidence as an attachment.

This authentic evidence can then be used as the basis for follow-up because it conforms to the provisions of KPU regulations and Law No. 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections.

With the determination of the DPS recapitulation, Idroos hopes that every KPU in the regency or city can work together.

Of course, any such cooperation must comply with the following aspects:

  • Work following applicable regulations, as previously described
  • To make it easier for voters to come to TPS, the KPU must update voter data
  • Adjust work with allocations following the principles and principles of procurement for the 2024 general elections

All DPS recapitulations by the Central Papua Provincial KPU, the Papua Mountains KPU, and the South Papua KPU were directly led by representatives of the RI KPU members, namely Betty Epsilon Idross, Mochammad Affifudin, and Yulianto Sudrajat.

Based on information about the KPU RI sets DPS in 3 Papua New Autonomous Region, it can be seen that each region already has a precise distribution of voters, even though there is voter inequality in South Papua.
