About Misool Island
Misool Island is in the Raja Ampat Islands, Indonesia, in the Misool district. The central city of the island is Waigama. Misool area of about 2,034 km, with the highest place as far as 535 meters.
If you look at the map, the location of this island is in the bird’s head of West Papua and adjacent to the city of Sorong. The Seram Sea borders Misool and has a vast open sea.
Because of the vastness of the sea in this area, large marine animals make their way of access, for example, octopuses and whales. So, if you’re lucky, you can see whales passing by.
Seeing the extent of the sea area around it, it is inevitable that the diversity of marine and land products is also abundant. Not only that, but you can also find authentic culture and customs here.

1. Visit the Lake Shaped Love

Love Lagoon Karwapop is a lagoon that looks like a heart. The clear water is bluish, and green trees grow around it, emphasizing the heart’s shape.
The lagoon or lake is a saltwater lake formed by the abrasion of seawater, so it is located around the ocean.
Apart from the Karwapop Love Lagoon, a lagoon-shaped heart, although imperfect, is called Love Pool. This Love Pool is one of the tourist destinations when they come to Misool.
2. Lenmakana Lake: The Sensation of Swimming with Jellyfish
Jellyfish do have an unpleasant impression because they can sting your skin. But in Lenakana Lake, the jellyfish don’t sting so you can swim or snorkel around it.
The jellyfish in this lake have evolved and lost their sting because they have been isolated for thousands of years, so they do not encounter predators. So when there are no predators, they lose their sting.
It would be best if you were prepared for extreme terrain to visit this because the track goes through a cliff.
3. The Peak of Harfat
If you want to climb the highest spot on Misol Island, you can visit Harfat Peak. When you are at the island’s highest point, your eyes will be spoiled by the island’s natural scenery, which is dominated by blue.
Because local community leaders discovered it named Mr. Harun and Mrs. Fatma, many people call it Harfat Jaya.
Climbing this peak will take about 30 minutes, but it will feel short because of the scenery around it.
4. Balbulol
In one corner of the beach on the island, you can see Balbulol, a place with karst that look like Christmas trees and ice cream cones. Its position is unique because it is like floating. This is caused by sea water’s erosion of the sides so that the inside becomes a buffer.
