West Papua is a hidden paradise with various underwater animals and biotas. There will be some beautiful places to visit in West Papua. It is famous for the seas around West Papua saving its beauty.
1. Fakfak Underwater Area
One of the seas around West Papua is an underwater area of Fakfak. It has complete beauties like underwater and sea. West Papua is a popular tourism destination for its exotic sea tourism with islands and various underwater biota. It attracts the attention of the divers. Besides Raja Ampat, the Fakfak sea area is a recommended tourism destination. To reach this region, you can pass through two ways: sea and air.
Access
Torea Airport is an entrance of the air transportation users located in the peak of the land so that it is often smokey. It causes the flight to Torea airport in the morning to get cancelled. When the flight attendant announces the aeroplane will land in the airport, you will see the dense forest with Panjang Island facing Torea Airport.
Underwater Paradise
One of the white sand tourism objects is in Wayob Island, Fakfak Region. Some underwater tourism locations have underwater beauties like the sea area in Ega Island and Panjang Island. They are famous for their clean sea area and white sand. You can explore one of the beautiful seas around West Papua by diving in the depth of 6 to 8 meters with clean water. You will see some sea biotas such as sharks, whales, turtles, firefish, and some fish when you dive.
Meanwhile, you will see coral reefs when you are at Ega Island. The domination of sea living animals is soft coral. The diving spot is in Boyan Beach facing Fakfak city. Unfortunately, Fakfak Region has no dive centre so you must contact the local government to dive.
2. Raja Ampat
It is famous all over the world. You can see the beauty of this sea around West Papua. It is the right sea for snorkelling and diving. It contains 450 types of coral reefs identified to develop and grow well. Raja Ampat has almost 75% of the coral reefs in the world. Moreover, the sea of Raja Ampat is home to more than 1000 types of coral reefs and 700 types of Mollusca. You can do snorkelling in some points such as Friwen Wall, Sawandarek, and Yenbuba. Three spots are still located in the Waigeo area, Raja Ampat. You can see the beauty of Raja Ampat in those spots.
Without diving into the deep sea, you can see the content of this sea. It is because the clearness level of Raja Ampat sea is real. You must keep it to avoid the exposure and contamination of the sea rubbish. Besides, sunlight can penetrate the depth of the sea by 30 meters. Of course, it is good for fishes and coral reefs in Raja Ampat.
3. Kaimana Sea
It is another paradise in West Papua. It has a hidden beauty like the Kaimana Sea. You can enjoy a perfect sunset in Kaimana. One of my favourite activities in Kaimana is seeing the enchanting sunset. Kaimana is famous for its sunset city. The enchanting sunset combines with the clean blue sea forming the amazing panorama in Kaimana. You can see the sunset in the precision sea line. Sea sunset can be enjoyed along the main city roads with the beach. You can swim with whales, the largest shark species in the world. Besides swimming with sharks and whales, you can do snorkelling to see and explore the natural beauty of the seas around West Papua.
