They have special formation on CPNS
The Indonesian government decided to establish a special formation on CPNS (Calon Pegawa Negeri Sipil – Probationary Civil Servant) for people in West Papua. This decision is based on the fact aimed at implementing the policy to organize staffing in Papua. Besides, free competition has resulted in the majority of those entering Papua being migrants.
Another reason for holding a special formation in CPNS for Papuans is to provide equality and stability to quality human resources. On the other hand, the government attempts to implement the CAT system prior to the CPNS selection in Papua.
West Papua has special autonomy status
The grant of Special Autonomy to West Papua Province is intended to deliver justice, enforce the rule of law, respect for human rights, expedite economic development, improve the welfare and progress of the Papuan people, and do so in an equitable and balanced manner with the progress of other provinces.
