West Papua Organization Brings Superior Young Generation

West Papua which has some natural beauty of course also has some uniqueness. One of them is the abundant natural wealth and culture and customs that are still not widely known by other people.

But apart from that, the Papuan people have youth organizations and community organizations that can channel their aspirations and accommodate all unrest there. They always build the welfare of the people of Papua to be more advanced.

The chairman of the West Papua DPR believes that the negative activities often carried out by youth can be changed by the role of religion. KRR and seminars held regularly will move the hearts of the young generation to the right path.

KRR and seminars will be held in various areas in Papua. This religious organization will provide a perspective that inspires the younger generation for the future. If activities like this are routinely carried out, then the government must support change.

This change was made for the youth to be even better. With the spread of religion and holy seminars, it is hoped that the younger generation will see and think for a brighter future, thus creating good youth.

This activity will involve 5 churches and 5 villages in the Papua region. They will go around doing seminars in turn. Not only that, they will provide education about religion and invite youth to do good.

Religious Activities are Given to Youth Groups in West Papua

The Papua Catholic Youth Commission held a Catholic youth conference throughout Papua with the theme of building solidarity and solidity of Catholic youth towards a real role. The conference will be held on 27-29 September 2021.

This activity has been approved by various parties to the Papuan government. More than 100 people attended the conference, including the Indonesian Catholic student association, Young Catholics, and other community organizations.

The head of the Komda said the conference was in line with the vision and mission of the Catholic Youth organization which was included in the motto ‘pro ecclesia et Patria. The meaning of the motto means that Papuan Catholic youth have a moral obligation in social.

In addition, the chairman of the committee for the Catholic youth conference emphasized that this conference was aimed at unity, solidarity, and solidity of all elements of the organization and community. With this union, it can be expected to build harmonious communication.

In addition, the government and the committee chairmen want the brotherhood across ethnic, religious, cultural, and government lines to be closer. This will have a very good impact on the sustainability of the socialization of the people of West Papua.

The Younger Generation Must be Educated as to the Nation’s Successor

The government of West Papua says that youth and the future are like humans and air. These two things cannot be separated because they have become the nature of the youth themselves who are called the future, the nation’s buds, and the next generation.

This is because history has proven that young people take part in a series of nation-building efforts. The government and church leaders invite all young people to be aware of their responsibilities as a youth.

Things that must be done by the youth of West Papua, among others, are aware of their vocation to realize social justice, humanity, and brotherhood in Papua. This should be understood and implemented by all youth in the region.

The theological-Christological basis of a leader is a leader who aims to serve the community. In conclusion, to be a leader one must have a mentality in serving, willingness to sacrifice, simple, humble, and principled truth.

In addition, the youth of Papua island must have intelligence in speaking and a high mentality. This is necessary to show that Papua is a strong area and should not be underestimated by other people.

Making the Youth of West Papua as Seeds to Become Leaders

Being a leader with a service mentality and a principle of goodness is a must. Leaders must continuously evaluate themselves and refer to cultural values ​​that are good for the benefit of many people.

• Self-reflection

As a leader, the younger generation must learn to improve themselves and correct themselves. A good leader must correct every mistake made and never feel satisfied and must continue to learn from experience and events.

• Controlling emotions

A good leader is one who can control emotions and conditions that occur. The younger generation must be as early as possible to learn to be people who can control themselves so they don’t feel easily shaken.

• Telling the truth

Honesty is one of the qualities that every person, especially a leader, must possess. If a young man wants to be a leader then they must learn to always tell the truth and support the truth.

• Have empathy and sympathy

Sympathy and sensitivity to the surroundings must be trained and nurtured as early as possible. Sensitivity to the surrounding environment is very rarely owned by today’s youth. But without realizing this trait is very important for the youth of West Papua.
