Yonif 132/BS Task Force Provide Free Health Services on The Border

Basically, getting proper healthcare is a right for every human being. However, unfortunately there are still many people who do not have the privilege to access health services. For example, people who live on the border in Papua. That is why getting free health services is something that they need.

Due to the lack of health facilities at the border, Yonif 132/BS Task Force provides it for them. The Task Force provided health services to people living on the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea for free. To be exact, in Wambes Village, Mannem District, Keerom, Papua.

Free Health Service as a Form of Care for The Community

Free health services for the Papuan people

In general, providing health services for free is a form of care from Yonif 132/BS to the community. Lieutenant Colonel Inf Ahmad Fauzi, the Commander of the Task Force, said this is a way to get closer to the community. The Task Force always tries to make breakthroughs and innovations for society.

Then, Second Lieutenant Inf Eka Maryuda, who is the Post Commander in Wambes also said that this is a form of community service. They want to help the people of Papua to overcome the problem of limited access to healthcare at the border. This is a way for the welfare of society.

Collaborating with Dian Harapan Papua Foundation to Create a Healthier Society on The Border

To carry out this mission, Yonif 132/BS collaborated with Dian Harapan Papua Fondation. Health workers at the Wambes post and the doctors from the foundation work together to maintain public health. They carry out health examinations, facilitate consultations, and provide medicines.

People can come to the health post freely if there are any health problems. It is very common for health workers and doctors to visit the residents’ homes to carry out health checks. They provide all these services for free. There is no need for the residents of Wambes to pay them at all.

The people who live in Wambes feel very happy with the existence of the health post that the Task Force provides. With the existence of this health post, they could get proper healthcare more easily. They gave positive feedback and thanked all parties involved in providing this health service.

Pieter, one of the residents, said that the free services help them overcome public health problems in Wambes. He found it very helpful because he did not need to go to the big cities just to access healthcare. All he needs to do is go to the health post or ask them to visit his house.

Yawen, the other resident, also said that she feels helped with this program. Because, all this time she had difficulty getting proper health services.

The Lack of Health Facilities Still Became A Major Concern for The Community on The Border

Collaboration to Provide Free health services

Getting proper health services is very expensive for people who live on the border. Due to the lack of the facilities, they must go to the nearest big cities to get the best service. So, it is kind of hard to get free health services on the border of Papua.

Until now, the lack of health facilities on the border has still become a major concern for the community. Certainly, they should not continue to feel this kind of limitation, especially in healthcare. In the future, there is a hope that health facilities will be evenly distributed throughout the region.

Thus, people at the border will not experience difficulties obtaining healthcare access, especially free health services. That is why this kind of program exists to help them to get equal rights. Because everyone has the right to be healthy.
