Health Service in Papua: Collaboration between BPJS and JKN

To improve the healthcare system in every region of Indonesia and provide the best service, the collaboration of interested parties is urgently needed. Therefore, Manokwari BPJS and JKN work together to improve healthcare services in Papua.

You can see the explanation below for developments and information regarding this collaboration!

Coordinating Meetings of BPJS and JKN in Papua Province

Meeting to Provide Health Service in Papua

For the health system in Papua to be more focused and to help provide the best service for the community, on February 14, a coordination and communication meeting was held with stakeholders.

During the 2023 Regional Working Meeting of Governors/Mayors throughout the Province of Papua and several other related events, the Papua Daily Executive (Plh), M. Ridwan Rudindingun, expressed his views and hopes.

Urban regencies still on Universal Health Coverage (UHC) status are trying to raise their level to become UHC Non Cut Off.

Meanwhile, Regencies/Cities that have succeeded in obtaining UHC Non Cut Off status must strive to maintain their commitment to their respective regions.

This statement is a form of the hope of the provincial government so that each district/city can provide health insurance to the community effectively and maximally.

So when people need it, they can directly benefit from the service. No need to wait for the activation in the following month.

Ridwan also appreciated the Social Security Agency of Health (BPJS). BPJS has tried to provide the best health services for all National Health Insurance (JKN) participants.

This is evident in the ease of obtaining health services, such as:

  • Patients or participants can use or show their National Identity Number (NIK) or Identity Card (KTP). Health facilities that have collaborated with BPJS will provide services on the spot.
  • Patients will also not be asked to do time-wasting activities, such as photocopying files, to receive services.
  • And Most importantly, all processes or service flows are free so that you won’t be asked for additional fees.

Local Government Must Fulfill Obligations

Health Service in Papua Must be Supported by All Parties

With the BPJS system being good enough to facilitate services to the public, Ridwan asked each Regional Government to fulfill its obligations.

The most crucial obligation relates to the affairs of the Regional Government. The sheet and the hospital are asked to immediately submit claims to BPJS to be verified and receive payments.

So that in the future, services can be increased and evenly distributed to the people of Papua, collaboration with BPJS is one of the main goals of the current government.

Teguh Wijaya, as deputy BPJS Deputy Region XII, stated that the Papua Province region had shown its commitment to serving public health.

This is proven by the ability of nine Regencies/Cities to obtain UHC.

This amount has so far met the target of the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN). The target set by the Central Government states that 985 residents have registered as JKN participants.

In 2023 BPJS has increased the transformation in the quality of its services. Where they apply the principle of “Easy, Fast, and Equal.”

This is implemented in maximizing digital services. You can use PANDAWA 08118165165, BPJS Care Center 165, JKN Mobile Application, and Car Customer Service (MCS).

The public can register online to get services at health facilities because it has been integrated with the Mobile JKN application. In addition, it is hoped that each BPJS branch can provide equal benefits without discriminating against patients.

Several segments of participants served by BPJS include Non-Paid Workers (PBPU), Recipients of Health Insurance Contribution Assistance (PBI JK), Village Heads and Devices (KP Desa), and Non-Participants in Regional Government (BP Pemda).

Finally, BPJS hopes that all parties from the Papua Provincial Government and Regency/City Governments will mutually support each other to improve healthcare services in Papua for all segments of BPJS participants.
