To get this health program, people can register themselves as JKN receivers. The JKN participants will later be divided into several classes, namely classes 1, 2, and 3.

  • People with a low income will later enter as recipients of class 3 services. This Class 3 service recipients also have another name: Contribution Assistance Recipients (Indonesian: Penerima Bantuan Iuran – PBI).
  • Meanwhile, Class 1 and 2 service recipients are usually wage workers, non-salaried workers, or non-workers. Example of Wage-receiving workers is civil servants, state officials, private employees, or members of the TNI/Polri. Meanwhile, non-salaried workers are people whose fields of work are outside the employment relationship or are self-employed workers or company employees.
  • Lastly, non-worker groups are entrepreneurs, pension fund recipients, veterans, etc.

Meanwhile, each class member also has a monthly fee. Class 1 members must pay a contribution of IDR 150,000 per month. Meanwhile, the contribution for each class 2 member is IDR 100,000 per month. Finally, class 3 must pay a contribution of IDR 35,000 per month.

Additionally, those who do not need to pay contributions are usually low-income citizens who are registered in the Social Affairs Office (Dinsos) as recipients of social assistance.

The public can now get information about the JKN program through an application that can be downloaded to their cell phones. In fact, those who have not registered for JKN membership can also register through the application with the necessary documents, such as ID Card, Family Card, etc.

Like other regions in Indonesia, the Maybrat government also ensures that its people receive benefits from the health insurance program that the government has prepared.

For this reason, the Maybrat government is coordinating with the BPJS Kesehatan agency, Disdukcapil (Population and Civil Registration Agency), and other agencies to collect data regarding JKN-KIS (JKN-Healthy Indonesia Card) card recipients.

Afterward, the government distributed and handed over the JKN-KIS cards to the district village heads in Maybrat. The JKN-KIS cards that village heads have received can then be distributed to the community in their respective villages.

With the existence of the National Health Insurance Program (JKN) managed by the Health Social Security Administration Agency (BPJS), the people of Maybrat do not need to worry about the current cost of treatment.

One of the benefits of JKN was conveyed by Klemen Saa. He is a JKN participant whose JKN contribution is covered by the Maybrat Regency’s APBD (regional government budget).

Klemen said that he really appreciates the efforts of the Maybrat district government in ensuring that its citizens have easy access to treatment through JKN.

Meanwhile, the government noted that as of 1 February 2023, around 48,885 residents of the Maybrat regency had registered as JKN participants. Meanwhile, 98% of them have received health insurance from the JKN program.

In conclusion, the government’s success in providing JKN treatment for the Maybrat citizens as well as citizens from other regions in Indonesia is a proud achievement for Indonesia. In fact, other countries have also adopted this health program as it is able to help provide health services efficiently.
