1. Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding School
Hidayatullah Islamic boarding school was founded in 1989. Start from da’wah in Irian Jaya. In 1992, they started to develop almost of all the West Papua region. Now, Hidayatullah is one of the most Islamic boarding school in West Papua.
Until now, they have more than 100 students in each Islamic boarding school. They build Islamic boarding school in Sorong, Manokwari, Kaimana, Fakfak, and Teluk Bintuni. It makes Hidayatullah become the big Islamic boarding school in West Papua.
2. Cahaya Islam Papua Islamic Boarding School
Cahaya Islam Papua was founded in 2016 in Sorong, West Papua. This Islamic boarding school was built by the Cahaya Islam Papua foundation.
The teacher in this Islamic boarding school also come from Islamic University. Like the Islamic University of Madinah KSA, and some Islamic universities in Indonesia. They have formal and non-formal education, besides Islamic boarding school.
There are many extracurricular like Arabic club, English club, archery, robotics, etc. They have good facilities. These facilities make the students feel comfortable.
3. Nurul Yaqin Islamic Boarding School
Nurul Yaqin Islamic boarding school has a modern concept. This is also one of the big Islamic boarding school in Sorong, West Papua. Nurul Yaqin Islamic boarding school was founded in 1994, by the Islamic Foundation of Nurul Yaqin.
Now, they have some Islamic programs. Not only for Islamic boarding schools. Madrasah Diniyah, Madrasah Aliyah, Madrasah Tahfidz Qur’an, Islamic Junior High School (SMP IT), and orphanage.

4. Salafiyah Syafi’iyah Islamic Boarding School
This Islamic boarding school is also located in Sorong, West Papua. Salafiyah Syafi’iyah was founded by Kyai Ikhwanudin. He comes from Banyuwangi, East Java.
In 1998, Kyai Ikhwanudin and his friends build Madrasah Diniyah in Sorong. Then in 2009, they started to open Salafiyah Syafi’iyah Islamic boarding school. Until now, they have more than 200 students. They have formal and non-formal education.
Islamic boarding school in West Papua not as much in other provinces. Some of the founders also come from Java islands. But they have the same goals. They want to share Islami for West Papuan Muslims.
