  1. Lenmakana Lake

Aside from its stunning natural scenery, Misool Island is also infamous for its unique marine life, including stingless jellyfish found in Lenmakana Lake.

According to past research, the lack of predators for the jellyfish species on this island is due to the isolated condition of the habitat. This condition has led to evolution for the jellyfish, which resulted in the stingless jellyfish.

  1. Karawapop “Love” Lake

The next must-visit spot on the island is the heart-shaped Karawapop “Love” Lake, which perfectly lives up to its name. The locals also call this place the Love Lake, Love Bay, or even Love Lagoon.

Before getting here, you have to prepare your stamina to climb onto the top of a hill which takes approximately 30 minutes. Also, you have to be extra careful because the road is quite steep.

If you want to see the majestic scenery of the island from a wider angle, climbing up to the Harfat Peak is the right choice. Moreover, the spot is located near the Karawapop area.

As a matter of fact, Harfat Peak was named after two local public figures, Harun Sapua and Fatma. Basically, they are the founders of Harfat Peak.

Not only can you witness the beauty of this island from the higher spot, but you can also see various unique flora up there. One of them is a pitcher or as known as Nepenthes.

The name Balbulol is a combination of the word “balbul”, which is a type of octopus, and “lol”, which means “a lot”. The locals believe that many octopuses live beneath the Balbulol Lagoon water.

There are a lot of fun activities you can do in this lagoon, such as swimming or snorkelling. The currents of the water are relatively calm. Therefore, it is safe for the visitor who wants to jump into the water and see the exciting living creatures down there.
