Rahmad Pribadi, the president director of Pupuk Kaltim, stated that the industrial area in Fakfak was a decree from the central government through instruction from the Coordinating Ministry for the economy.
This becomes one of PSN (Proyek Strategis Nasional) projects that straightly pointing Pupuk Indonesia, through Pupuk Kaltim, to implement the building project. According to Rahmad, Pupuk Kaltim is more than ready to run this project and considers it a big trust from the government.
2. Projected as a Big Production
The finishing target, still according to Rahmad, is in 2027. The execution is hopefully will be able to be in the fourth position as the factory with the biggest production capacity. Rahmad adds that although the production capacity is big, Pupuk Kaltim will target the local market online. So, it is different from those in China and Japan. They target the global market.
“We focus on the Asia Pacific by giving more focus on domestic. This is because fertilizer consumption is still low if we see and compare it to other countries like Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand,” Rahmad said.
