About Waterfall in Amoi Village

Amoi Village is one of the traditional villages in Papua. It is more precisely in the Warsa sub-district, Biak Numfor Regency, West Papua. This village is located in the Biak archipelago, east of the city of Manokwari, the capital of West Papua Province.

Amoi Village is a traditional village whose people and nature have not been too much influenced by modernization. In this area, there is a waterfall that according to many tourists really gives a natural feel. The waterfall is called the Wodu Waterfall.

Visiting this waterfall is suitable for tourists who want to do a one-day trip. Generally, tourists will go to this waterfall in the morning and return in the afternoon or before dusk.

To get to Amoi village, you can first use a boat or boat from Manokwari for a few hours. Upon arrival in Biak, you can take a motorbike or car to arrive at Amoi village. The trip from Biak to Amoi only takes about 1 hour.

To get to this waterfall, you have to walk or trek for about 40 minutes from the village. If you visit when it rains, you have to be careful while trekking because the road or access to the waterfall is likely to be muddy.

Therefore, it would be better if you check the weather forecast first before visiting this waterfall. This waterfall itself is open 24 hours so you can see this attraction anytime you want.

Just in case, you should prepare the money to pay for the entrance ticket. On weekdays and weekends, visitors might be charged an entrance fee of IDR 20,000 per person. If you need clearer information regarding your visit to this attraction, you can ask the local tour manager.

After visiting Wodu, you can also take your time to visit other tourist places. There is another waterfall that is still in the same district, namely Wafsarak Waterfall. This waterfall, which is also known as the Warsa waterfall, is located in Inswanbesi village.

Like Wodu, this attraction is also open every day for 24 hours. This waterfall is located 100 meters from the main road that connects the two districts, namely Biak Numfor district and Supiori district. Meanwhile, if you depart from the city of Biak, you have to travel about 1.5 hours to arrive at this waterfall tour.

Usually, this waterfall will be crowded with visitors on weekends or national holidays. During the holiday season, the majority of visitors who come are groups of school children from nearby provinces or outside of Papua island.

After enjoying the natural scenery of the waterfall in Amoi village, tourists can enjoy the typical culinary delights of this region. One of them is a cuisine made from bamboo shoots. There are also various kinds of household products and crafts, musical instruments and so on which are made of bamboo.
