After the Papua Provincial Government made an MSME digitization agenda, now West Papua Holds Movement Proud Made in Indonesia in Manokwari and the National Proud Tourism Movement in Indonesia. This activity will take place in Manokwari Regency on May 9, 2023.
With various agendas that promote Indonesian products and instill a sense of pride in domestic products, making Indonesia increasingly recognized by the world, the big hope is that various Indonesian MSME products, especially Papua, can compete in the global market.
About GBBI, Assistant II for Economy and Development of the West Papua Regional Secretariat Melkias Werinuss said that the committee for the peak implementation of GBBI and GBWI activities had been formed following the Decree of the Governor of West Papua Number 500.3.1/46/2/2023.
In organizing this event, the West Papua government cooperates with Bank Indonesia as its partner. Until now, the committee that was formed has held a meeting with the West Papua Representative of Bank Indonesia. The meeting has been held twice, which discussed all the event’s needs.
National-level events must be prepared as carefully as possible so that nothing untoward happens when the event takes place. Things that must be considered include security, property, or equipment.
Because GBBI is a big event many people will attend, the potential for crime is very large. Regarding the committee meeting with Bank Indonesia, Melkias emphasized:
“The decision of our meeting was moved forward from May 12 to May 9 because the 12th coincided with the inauguration of the governor’s office. Later, we will have another stabilization meeting”.
Location of the Event
The schedule for the GBBI and GBWI will be confirmed with the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia. The local government has high hopes for central government officials to attend the two MSME events.
As expressed by Melkias as the chief organizer, “We hope that Coordinating Minister Marves and Minister of Trade can attend”.
National events that will invite many figures and guests must be located in a strategic place. What is meant by strategic here is that it has enough capacity to accommodate all guests and visitors. Not only this, but the location must also be sufficient for parking all the guests’ vehicles.
Melkias stated that the location of two MSME events has two locations, namely at the Sanggeng Sports Center and the University of Papua hall. Although these two spacious venues were prepared, the committee predicted that the number of visitors would exceed the capacity of the two venues.
For these considerations, the organizing committee then decided on the location of the harvesting of the Proud to be Made in Indonesia National Movement at Borarsi Field in Manokwari.
MSME Players Who Have Shown
To date, the total number of MSME players known to have participated in the peak celebration of the Proud to be Made in Indonesia National Movement event is 55 MSME players. Each MSME actor has a very different stand capacity.
This GBBI event later promoted or displayed selected local MSMEs and held MSME e-catalog registration in the marketplace.
Head of the BI West Papua Representative Office Rommy S Tamawiwy said, “The MSMEs that we have prepared are MSMEs that are ready to implement digital payments and digital marketing.”
He added that the GBBI and GBWI events are cooperative between ministries/agencies, local governments, and stakeholders. The goal is to encourage and help the existence of MSMEs and the tourism sector.
On the other hand, Bank Indonesia is considered the best partner in organizing this national event.
