President Jokowi has proven his commitment to Papua’s development. The inauguration of the PYCH evidence this. Many parties also convey appreciation for the development of PYCH and future plans for young Papuans.
PYCH as New Hope for the Papuan People
The construction of PYCH is a new hope for the people of Papua. With this building, Papua will have a place to produce talented and skilled human resources.
Not only that but the facilities available at the creativity center are also very complete and have received praise and appreciation for the development of PYCH from President Jokowi.
Meanwhile, Billy Mambasar, one of the 23 founders of PYCH, also expressed his joy at the inauguration of the PYCH building. He expressed his gratitude to various parties who have made efforts to develop PYCH. One of them is the Head of BIN, Budi Gunawan.
In fact, BIN is one of the institutions that facilitated his meeting with 23 other Inspiring Young Papuan members at the State Palace. Their meeting with President Jokowi led to the idea of building PYCH.
Now, the membership of Inspiring Young Papua has grown rapidly. Currently, there are more than 12,800 members. They contribute to their respective fields of interest to achieve the welfare of the people of Papua.
Because of that, Billy felt a sense of pride in taking advantage of the PYCH facility with other young Papuan people. Meanwhile, the management staff for PYCH will consist of young Papuans who have received training. That way, they can manage PYCH properly and professionally.
Future Plans for Papua and West Papua
Billy Mambrasar, who is also the President’s special staff, plans to share the President’s commitment to advancing Papua to young Papuans. He embodied this in the accelerated development program.
Meanwhile, the foundation of this program itself is Presidential Instruction No. 9 of 2020 concerning the Acceleration of Development in Papua and West Papua.
In this instruction, the Indigenous People of Papua (Indonesian: Orang Asli Papua – OAP) are the main subjects for achieving prosperity through the program launched.
5 Program for the Acceleration of Development (BAPER)
In a seminar held in Jakarta, Billy explained about 5 accelerated development programs for Papua and West Papua. He abbreviated the accelerated development program as BAPER.
The word has the meaning of bringing change (Indonesian: Bawa Perubahan). The Papua development acceleration programs consist of the following:
1. Creating Young Entrepreneurs
The implementation of this plan is by building and developing PYCH. Another one is Inspiring Young Papua’s efforts to manage the training and business capital ecosystem.
2. Producing Millennial Farmers in Papua and West Papua
This second plan relates to the Ministry of Agriculture, which is working to produce millennial farmers in 10 provinces. In Papua and West Papua, they hope that there will be 20,000 millennial farmers who will receive capital, technical training, and access to markets.
3. Released the Official Papua Talent Management (MTP) Website
The MTP (Indonesian: Manajemen Talenta Papua – MTP) site is a site whose management has received guidance from the Directorate General of Regional Autonomy of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
With this site, Papuan children will receive ongoing training and can also be connected to various job opportunities in the government and private sectors.
4. Building Non-formal Learning Centers
This fourth program is a program that involves the Ministry of Education. The availability of non-formal learning facilities will help the people of Papua, especially the younger generation, to gain access to a more diverse education.
5. Released the Policy Bootcamp Site for Papua
The Policy Bootcamp site is a site that the Papuan youth can later use to convey critics, aspirations, suggestions, and the like for policies in Papua.
In conclusion, Mambrasar showed appreciation for the development of PYCH and began to carry out plans to accelerate development in Papua.
