Why PLI? Another advantage of PLI is that the course institution directly cooperates with several embassies that are immediately ready to teach their language at PLI and provide opportunities to obtain educational scholarships abroad.

“Educate Papuan and non-Papuan children well. English is one of the language connectors in other parts of the world. Then, English is also a language link in business and education,” said CEO and General Director Samuel Tabuni.

Papua Language Institute course institutions also teach their students to excel. They are directed by their excellence so that they may be given PLI scholarships to study overseas.

“Because of my concern as a native Papuan child with the condition of education in Papua, especially mastery of foreign languages, we established PLI,” said Samuel.

The children of Papua must be trained from the start to study a decent and proper foreign language to continue to be the leaders and agents of growth in their nation, especially now that it has joined the global period and the ASEAN 10 unique MEA.

Previously, PLI had conducted a Soft Opening, and currently, there are around 50 students who have registered, and we are conducting an assessment test. Next, there will be a Grand Opening for the teaching and learning process.

“We have collaborated with several universities abroad for cooperation. Mastery of foreign languages is strengthening the degree of human life in Papua and opening up access to economic markets in the Pacific region and 10 ASEAN countries,” said Samuel.

With scholarship facilities abroad, Papua Language Institute hopes that many Papuan children can register themselves for this course. Or for further information, you can come directly to the course location or by opening the website www.PLIPapua.com.

“We have teachers and teaching assistants who are professional in education,” said Samuel adding

BPSDM Scholarship

Students from the Siswa Unggul Papua, or SUP, scholarship program of the BPSDM are sent to PHLI every year. Students are chosen for the SUP program, after which they are sent to their partner language schools. As one of the BPSDM partners, PHLI provides students with a one-year “preparation and foundation” program, followed by a “Blended year” for those who satisfy the prerequisites for enrolment in a US institution.

Through the collaboration with BPSDM and SUP, PHLI students receive sponsorship for university tuition costs, living and housing costs, and the cost of their transition to the US. During the PHLI Blended Year, students are expected to earn a minimum of 30 credits with a GPA of 2.5 before they can move to attend classes in person in the US. Once students have arrived in the US, PHLI keeps the lines of communication open between BPSDM and Universities.

PHLI manages the selection process and new student enrolment in collaboration with the regions (Kabupaten). After choosing students, PHLI sends funding requests to each student’s local government. Accepted students will enrol in PHLI and be held to the same academic standards as BPSDM-sponsored SUP program participants.
