It may sound too much to say that the Puncak Jaya has some charisma that could blow your mind. However, it is not wrong. Many people have witnessed it and agree with the claim on this mountain. What is this Puncak Jaya? What is the uniqueness that differentiates it from other places? Here we are going to discuss it with you.

Puncak Jaya Papua Indonesia Mountain

Carstensz Pyramid, or Puncak Jaya, is a one-of-a-kind place. This mountain is located in Papua, Indonesia. It used to be the highest mountain in this country.

The mountain has small glaciers at 4884 meters above sea level. Other glaciers also can be found on the peak.

The Puncak Jaya mountain has snow on its peak, unlike many other mountains in Indonesia. As you know, Indonesia is a tropical country that naturally does not experience snow on its surface. However, this Puncak Jaya is the exception. It is a wonderful part of nature that leaves anyone mesmerized. Therefore, this place is always popular as a tourist attraction. Besides watching the snow, people can also see the area near the mountain with beautiful landscapes and greenery.

Source of Water

These glaciers are wonderful for countries with tropical climates like Indonesia. These glaciers of ice-covered mountains can only be found in this area, in Puncak Jaya Barisan Sudirman, Papua.

Even though it seems to be quiet, the mountain is still active. We cannot know when this great mountain will rise again.

The glaciers of this mountain not only provide some attractions for the tourists and some living value to the people near it. The glaciers will provide some source of fresh water to the people. The water will flow through the creek, providing an eternal and unlimited water source.

Melting Peak of Papua Indonesia mountain

In today’s climate, many glaciers are melting. Such as Andes Mountain, Kilimanjaro Peak, and many more. This phenomenon also happens in our Puncak Jaya in Papua Indonesia mountain.

The melting glaciers are due to the effects of global climate change. The melting peak of the snow is due to the rising temperature at the top of the mountain since the glaciers can only exist in a place where the temperature is below zero degrees Celsius. Not only does the snow peak melt, but this climate change also causes some other disasters worldwide, leaving everyone in fear.

Rather than the other mountain, the Puncak Jaya in Papua is the one that will get the effects of this climate change. That is because the natural geographical position of Puncak Jaya is in the warmest place with a tropical climate. It is at the equator.

When it rains, the atmosphere above the Puncak Jaya will warm up and make the rain fall like snow. Currently, rain in this area is falling in the form of water, which speeds up the melting process.

Wrapping Up

Do not wonder too much when some say Puncak Jaya is a marvelous place to visit. This is a fact. This Papua Indonesia mountain is one of a kind and always leaves you speechless. Especially the one who witnessed its greatness. Puncak Jaya is a wondrous nature you won’t forget easily, like many others.
