5. Has the Origin of the Name Carstensz

The peak was first observed by Dutch sailor Jan Carstensz through binoculars in 1623 while sailing along the southern shore of the Arafura Sea, giving rise to the name Carstensz.

When Jan Carstensz initially claimed to have discovered the Carstensz Pyramid Mountain blanketed in snow in Indonesia.
