West Papua, A Paradise for Living Things in the Cenderawasih Bay National Park #1

West Papua. Cenderawasih Bay National Park was Designated as a Marine Reserve area by the Minister of Forestry in the year 2002 in the region of West Papua. Cenderawasih Bay is a paradise for both plants and animals that live both on land and in the water.

 

Cenderawasih Bay National Park is located in 5 regions and two provinces, namely Wondana Bay Regency and district of Manokwari in West Papua Province and Nabire Regency, Yapen Regency and Waropen Regency in Papua Province.[1] Locals living around the National Park utilizes  the resources of the sea as a source of life and maintaining the existing flora and fauna of the area.

The decision of the Minister of Forestry Number 58/Kpts-II/1990 dated February 3, 1990, the area was declared a Marine Reserve area. [2] This conservation area was designated as a National. This conservation area was designated as a National Park-Paradise Bay Sea through a decision of the Minister of forestry Number 472/Kpts-II/1993 dated September 2, 1993. New established as a Cenderawasih Bay National Marine Park based on the decision letter of the Minister of Forestry number 8009/Kpts-II/2002 dated August 29, 2002.[3]
