State Administration Institute (LAN) asks ASN in Papua to join the apprenticeship program. The objective of this internship program is to enhance their competency.
This program is designed for all Papua ASN, especially those in the new autonomous regions. The reason is these new regions require competent ASN to accelerate the governance transformation.
The initiative is part of the government’s efforts to address the challenges faced by Papua in terms of human resource development. The region has long struggled with a lack of skilled professionals. It has hindered economic development in this region.
The Details of Apprenticeship Programs
The government focuses on improving the competency of ASN in DOB Papua through training and development programs. The apprenticeship program is one such initiative aimed at providing hands-on experience to ASN.
This internship program allows ASN to acquire new skills and knowledge to implement in their respective fields.
In fact, LAN successfully conducted an apprenticeship program for ASN Papua province last year. This program is the follow-up action for Presidential Instruction concerning the acceleration of Welfare development in Papua.
ASN from Papua will be sent to various ministries and government agencies during the apprenticeship program. For instance, they must work in the Ministry of Finance, Home Affairs, Bappenas, Setwapres, LKPP, and the regional government.
The result of the previous internship program was very good. ASN who has completed the training can create innovation that can be useful for Papua.
Besides, the Head of LAN, Adi Suryanto, also appreciates BPSDM Papua Province because this institution successfully conducts National Leadership Training. Also, this institution got an accreditation. It is a great achievement as other provinces in Indonesia cannot conduct this leadership training.
The governor of Papua, Ridwan Ruusukun stated that Papua provincial government will collaborate with LAN. This collaboration aims to enhance the quality of human resources in Papua. Therefore, all state civil apparatus in Papua can tackle the bureaucratic challenge.
Then, he also stated that the government encourages ASN in new autonomous regions in Papua to participate in this apprenticeship program. So, this program will be able to enhance the competency of ASN who work in all provinces in Papua.
The Purpose of The Apprenticeship Program
During the apprenticeship program, ASN will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in various government agencies. So they can gain practical experience in their areas of expertise.
