Telkomsel and UNCEN Establish Collaboration in the Field of Education and Research

Telkomsel and UNCEN Jayapura have signed an MOU in the fields of Education, Research, and Community Service. The MOU was signed by Vice President Consumer Sales Area Pamasuka Mirza Budiwan and UNCEN Rector Dr. Oscar O Wambrauw on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at UNCEN Jayapura campus.

According to Mirza Budiwan, in the growth of the telecommunications industry, there is a gap between technology and employee capabilities. Therefore, this collaboration will help UNCEN students acquire the soft skills needed in future job applications.

Telkomsel will add value to UNCEN students so that they possess competencies that can meet the needs of the dynamic telecommunications industry.

Program Collaboration Telkomsel dan UNCEN

UNCEN Rector Dr. Oscar O Wambrauw welcomes this collaboration with Telkomsel. He stated that it presents an excellent opportunity for students to prepare for the workforce.

Specifically, the collaboration will equip students with technology and telecommunication literacy aligned with the Independent Campus Program.

This program provides opportunities for all students to hone their skills based on their talents and interests by directly immersing themselves in the workforce to prepare for their careers.

Telkomsel hopes that this collaboration will significantly impact UNCEN students and improve the quality of human resources in Indonesia. Through this collaboration, Telkomsel will continue to build partnerships with universities throughout Indonesia, including UNCEN, to find solutions to the challenges and issues faced by the community.

Before this collaboration, Telkomsel and UNCEN collaborated on several occasions. This included training sessions on Content Creator, Digital Marketing and Brand Online Development, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives such as providing 20 computer units and 10 Orbit modems.

Collaboration Focus

In the collaboration between Telkomsel and UNCEN, both parties will focus on several areas, including:

  1. Developing educational and research programs that accommodate the needs of the telecommunications industry. This will allow UNCEN students to acquire knowledge and skills that are relevant to the telecommunications job market.
  2. Providing training and education on soft skills that are necessary for UNCEN students, such as communication skills, time management, leadership, and others.

This will help UNCEN students be better prepared when they enter the workforce and improve their ability to compete in the increasingly competitive job market.

  1. Developing community service programs that involve the use of technology and knowledge acquired from educational and research programs.

This will help the surrounding community access information and technology related to telecommunications more easily and assist in addressing community issues.

The collaboration is expected to help the surrounding community have easier access to information and technology related to telecommunications and assist in addressing community issues.

To achieve these objectives, Telkomsel will provide the support needed by UNCEN, including access to the latest resources and technology, as well as funding for developing educational and research programs relevant to the telecommunications industry.

Additionally, Telkomsel will provide support for training and education on soft skills and assist in developing quality community service programs.

Telkomsel and UNCEN working together to support independent campus programs is a joint effort to improve the quality of human resources in Indonesia. With this collaboration, Telkomsel and UNCEN hope to help prepare a highly skilled younger generation in Indonesia who can compete in the global job market.
